Art of Assisting | Teaching Through Touch Tutorials (Coming Nov 2025)

About

This module offers practical tools to help you feel confident and capable when offering hands-on assists in class. You’ll learn essential guidelines around clarity, consent, communication, pressure, and safety - plus how to read the room and adapt to different students. We’ll explore a range of assist types including verbal cues, non-verbal suggestions, self-guided adjustments, hands-on support, and occasional massage moments (like in śavāsana). These approaches help you support students with clarity and care - whether you're teaching group classes or one-on-one. At the heart of our method is the understanding that assisting isn’t about correction - it’s about connection through the language of safe touch. You’ll also learn how to use effective pressure and direction through key “press points,” helping students feel grounded, aligned, and more connected in each pose. The module includes a comprehensive tutorial library covering assists for warm-ups, forward folds, backbends, sun salutations, standing and balancing poses, arm balances, inversions, seated and supine poses. Designed to be easy to follow and immediately applicable, this section gives you a solid foundation for assisting safely and skillfully.
